About the CSTA

Best practice for container self-storage and trading

The CSTA promotes professionalism, innovation and best practice for container self-storage operators and container traders, as well as specialist providers of equipment, systems and services.

The aim of the CSTA

The association represents members’ interests within industry, governmental and corporate environments, promotes professionalism and value, and gives its members a regulatory, technical and safety resource.

Its members are the operators of container self-storage facilities, container sales and trading companies, converters and application innovators, designers and architects of modular buildings, and suppliers of container equipment, accessories and services.

Who the CSTA works for

Traders

Most of the global container fleet is operated by shipping lines. Containers leave that fleet because of age, condition, location or overstock, and a large second market sells, hires and converts them. The CSTA’s trader guidance covers neutralising, re-marking, grading, and one-way use under the Convention for Safe Containers.

Innovators

Innovation in container design and technology is how the industry grows. The association is a platform for innovators to talk to their customers about new designs and how sites actually run.
