Questions about joining

Who can join the CSTA?

Operators of container self-storage facilities, container sales and trading companies, innovators in container design and technology, and suppliers of equipment, systems and services to the industry, in the UK or anywhere else in the world, whether newly started or long established. Every member agrees to follow the CSTA Code of Conduct.

What does membership cost?

£295 a year, or €355 or US$365. UK companies pay VAT on top. Join now and the rest of 2026 is free: membership runs to 31 December 2027. Pay by card when you join, or ask for an invoice.

Is VAT charged?

Companies in the United Kingdom pay UK VAT at 20% on top of the fee. Businesses elsewhere pay no UK VAT and their invoice notes the reverse charge. Add your VAT number on the form or at checkout and it is printed on your VAT invoice.

Can we pay by invoice or bank transfer?

Yes. Choose “Send us an invoice” and we email a VAT invoice with 30 days to pay, online by card or by bank transfer. Add your accounts team’s email and a purchase order number if you need them on it. Membership starts as soon as the invoice is paid.

How soon is our listing live?

Straight away if you pay by card: your company appears in the member directory and on the map, and we email a link to choose your password for the members’ area. By invoice, the listing goes live the moment the invoice is paid.

What is the Code of Conduct?

The standards every member agrees to (October 2026 edition): fair contracts and clear prices, safe sites and containers, insurance, legal compliance and how complaints are handled. The person applying signs it for the company; the signed declaration is kept in the members’ area.

What is in the members’ area?
